158th birth anniversary of Baden Powell: 300 scouts plant 100s of saplings, CDA to plant 0.3m more

Islamabad – The Capital Development Authority (CDA) will plant more than 0.3 million trees and saplings during the current spring tree plantation drive, said Member Environment Capital Development Authority Syed Mustafain Kazmi.

He disclosed this on the occasion of the 158th birth anniversary of first chief scout of the world, Baden Powell. A cake cutting ceremony was also held which was attended by a large number of scouts.

Along with more than 300 scouts, he planted hundreds of tree on the occasion. He said that Scout Movement enables the youth especially the children to seek training and empowerment to expand their horizon and learn by doing in an atmosphere of kindness and encouragement, instead of fear and anger.

He noted scouting is all about building confidence and self-esteem, learning important skills of life and leadership skills, team building, outdoor adventure and education.
