Multan Customs seizes smuggled goods worth Rs 18m in 8 days

MULTAN: Model of Customs Collectorate MCC Multan has seized vehicles, high speed diesel, furnace oil, cloth and miscellaneous goods of worth Rs 18 million in last 8 days.

According to the data of Anti-Smuggling Organization, MCC Multan has seized enormous quantity of 14136 yards of silk cloth, impounded three imported motor vehicles includes Toyota Corolla X, Hilux Surf and Mitsubishi. 84 branded tyres, 1855 beauty creams, 30200 ceramic tiles, 30 cans of engine oil, electronic Juicers, Irons and sachets of shampoos. Around 50,000 liters of High Speed Diesel and 56000 litres furnace oil were also seized during last few days.

Collector MCC Multan Dr Sarfraz Ahmad Warraich has relocated 15 members into Anti-Smuggling Organization recently to get better results. Dr.Sarfraz Ahmad Warraich has monitored the performance of his staff in the fields and a vehicle, Hilux Surf was intercepted and seized during his visit.

Collector MCC Multan is putting efforts to stop smuggling in the region .Extensive anti-smuggling campaign is underway across the country under the directives of Chairman Federal Board of Revenue Tariq Bajwa.

Anti-smuggling Organizations of the nationwide Collector ate and ranges of the Directorate Generals of Customs Intelligence and Investigation have been advised to strike a coordinate strategy  to apprehend the menace of smuggling .In this regard   Chairman Federal Board of Revenue Tariq Bajwa and the Director General  Lutfullah Virk held detailed with heads of field formation  .

Reliable Sources told Customs Today that MCC Multan and Range office Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan have positioned joint teams in three check post to curb smuggling.
