LAHORE: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has directed the field formation offices of Lahore to collect the tax and refunds record of the taxpayers.
Sources said that FBR has asked the field formations to collect the tax records of active taxpayers for the current fiscal year 2014-15. “The FBR has asked to gather the record of refunds cases that has been cleared during the said period. It is expected that action would be initiated against the fake filers and tax defaulters after analysing the record,” they said.
Talking to Customs Today, an official of the Lahore Regional Offices said that the department has started collecting the record of taxpayers following the instructions of the board. He said that the record of tax would be dispatched to the headquarters once it is completed. On the other hand, the lnland Revenue Lahore has started action against sugar mills involved in tax evasions.
