KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Customs seized 8.2kg of ketamine worth RM300,000 at Terminal 2 of the Kota Kinabalu International Airport here the other day.
State Customs director Datuk Janathan Kandok said the drugs were found in four big envelopes, hidden between clothes in a baggage at 3.30am.
“A man, 32, on transit to Kuala Lumpur was nabbed upon his arrival from Guangzhou, China,” he told a media conference at Wisma Customs.
He said the man would be remanded for 14 days and investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 which carries the mandatory death sentence if convicted.
