TOKYO: It’s been two whole years since Metal Gear Rising: Revengence was released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. In that time, fans of both the Metal Gear Solid franchise, as well as fans of action games, have turned Metal Gear Rising: Revengence into a big success.

To celebrate the two-year anniversary, developer Platinum Games has tweeted a mysterious image that could hint at a potential sequel to Metal Gear Rising: Revengence. The image shows the protagonist of Metal Gear Rising: Revengence, Raiden, right as he is slashing through an enemy as well as a watermelon. While striking a pose, Raiden is also standing in front of a big, fancy number 2.

This 2 could be looked at a couple of different ways. The most obvious one is because it has been two years since Metal Gear Rising: Revengence was released.

If you remember back at the end of January, Sony gave a presentation at the Taipei Game Show. Included in the presentation was this mysterious image. It was taken from a Twitch stream of the event.
