Rangers arrest two for smuggling Indian alcohol into Pakistan through Kasur

LAHORE: Sutlej Rangers claimed to have arrested two smugglers from the Kasur border when they were trying to smuggle Indian alcohol into Pakistan.

According to Pakistan Rangers, intelligence resources had passed on information regarding activities of smugglers in the Kasur and Kalu border area.

The rangers set a checkpoint on the home bank of Sutlej River and noticed some movement in the border area.

An exchange of fire took place between the smugglers and the security personnel. Resultantly, the rangers succeeded in apprehending two smugglers and recovered Indian liquor McDowell 66 bottles, Perfume Wind Song 2 bottles, 2 packets of Red Tea and a Nokia mobile.

Punjab Rangers Director General Maj Gen Tahir Javed Khan appreciated the commitment, dedication and professional skills of Sutlej Rangers.

Smuggling at the Indo-Pak border is common but the Pakistan Rangers personnel are taking strict action against elements involved in smuggling.
