LAHORE: The Excise and Taxation Motor Branch is so active in token tax recovery that during a general holdup in Lahore, it impounded a non-customs paid vehicle that was in the use of a Pakistan Customs officer.

According to sources, a team of the Excise and Taxation Department during a general holdup stopped a car at a checkpoint, which was in the use of an officer of Pakistan Customs. Upon inquiry, he failed to prove his ownership and legality of the vehicle, so the Excise Motor Branch team seized the vehicle.
