MULTAN: Anti-Smuggling Organization has arrested four major culprits of a network involved in smuggling vehicles to Punjab through Punjab-Balochistan border by adopting the route of Koh e Sulemani.
Collector Customs Sarfraz Ahmad Warraich said that smugglers have some unseen hidden routes in the surrounding areas of Koh e Sulemani. He said his anti-smuggling teams were performing their duties in civil uniform on these routes to conceal their identity and our teams were closely monitoring the area to observe the movements of smugglers.

He said that Smugglers were operating very smartly in that region as their pilot was detecting the routes first and after his green signal smuggled vehicles passed through those routes. We blocked the gates of railway station to hold them there with our deployed staff.
Collector Sarfraz Ahmad Warraich revealed that two smugglers Issmat ullah and Muhammad Hashim were arrested near the gates of Railway Station, after detaining the vehicle Corolla X when the team was coming to Multan two cars of same smuggling network came from the backside and one of vehicle hit ASO team car and the second car opened blind fire on the squad. He said that one of the car was hitting continuously from sideways to prevent their companion and other was firing but Anti-Smuggling Organization staff showed great courage and arrested the attacking smugglers too.
Abdul Majeed and Allah Ditta were arrested along with vehicles and FIR was lodged against them on charge of interference into state affairs, he added.
According to initial investigation, Abdul Majeed is one of the main culprits of smuggling. Assistant Collector Anti-Smuggling Organization Faizan Badar and Additional Collectoe Ghulam Mustafa led the operation against smugglers while Collector Sarfraz Ahmad Warraich was supervising the whole operation. The Team included Inspector Arshad Nadeem, Zia Bhatti and Sepoys Muhammad Jamil, Ghulam Abbas, Shabbir Hussain and Munawar Hussain.
