Lahore: Land Freight Unit clears consignments from India worth Rs 2.05 billion through WeBOC

LAHORE: Pakistan Customs Land Freight Unit Lahore has cleared imported consignments from India worth Rs 2.05 billion through newly launched software Web Based One Customs (Weboc).

As per detail, authorities at LFU Wagha were shifting the items to Weboc from One Customs the old software, in multi stages. At first step, Customs only shifted the clearance of soya bean over Weboc, an official said. He added that Customs have adopted this strategy to facilitate the traders and clearing agents.

He said that the number of items was increased over the time as the users were getting familiarity with the software. One customs would be totally replaced with Weboc soon, he informed.

According to available statistics, consignments of tomatoes worth Rs 269.8 million, garlic worth Rs 16.2 million, ginger worth Rs 62.5 million, soya bean worth Rs 1.69 billion and polyethylene worth Rs 2.6 million were cleared by using Weboc.

Official informed that technical team was available at the LFU to facilitate the users about new software, if they found any problem in filing GDs or other documents regarding trade.
