Customs officials impound fabric, vehicles worth Rs 12m

LAHORE: Customs officials on Thursday seized 64,000 yards fabric and two Toyota Corolla cars worth millions of rupees in different raids.

According to details, the anti-smuggling unit impounded 50,000 yards foreign made fabric in a bus LWC/9687.

Sources said the Customs officials raided the bus on a tip-off of Customs Collector preventive Juneid Akram at the Shera Kott and confiscated the non-duty paid fabric.

In another raid, the officials confiscated two non-duty paid vehicles Toyota Corolla LWR/ 8168 model 2000 and Toyota Corolla AAJ/094 model 1995.

In two different raids, the anti-smuggling wing confiscated 9,000 yards and 7,000 yards foreign made fabric valuing Rs 1 million from the Faizpur interchange.

Sources said that the confiscated fabric and vehicles were valued at Rs 12 million.
