Lahore: Excise staff confiscates documents of 380 token tax defaulter vehicles

LAHORE: The Excise and Taxation Department is taking strict action against token tax defaulters, and in this connection, the teams of Excise Motor Branch confiscated documents of 380 vehicles during checking of vehicles on roads.

A number of unregistered vehicles have also been impounded,  and millions of rupees are expected from this activity.

On the other hand, citizens are facing problems as various checkpoints have been established by the Excise Motor Branch.

They said that this undue exercise was creating problems for the citizens, especially for those travelling with their families.

Quarrels between the excise staff and citizens were also reported during the current week, especially in the Defence Housing Authority.
Excise Motor Branch Director Sohail Arshad is supervising the action against defaulters.

He is also visiting checkpoints set up across the city. The Excise and Taxation Department has formed special teams to check vehicles whose owners have failed to pay their token tax, especially unregistered vehicles.
A number of people got their documents back after paying the token tax of their vehicles.

Teams of the Excise Motor Branch have established special checkpoints on different roads, including Jail Road, Ferozepur Road near Model Town, Multan Road, Raiwand Road and Ravi Road, as well as roads in Faisal Town and Shahdara.
