Excise Gujranwala collects Rs 1.15 billion in 8 months

LAHORE: The Excise and Taxation Department Gujranwala has collected Rs 1.15 billion tax in the first eight months of the fiscal year 2014-15.
The department collected Rs 580 million under the head of property tax and Rs 522 million under the head of motor vehicles tax. The revenue was collected from registration of new vehicles, token tax and transfers of ownership of vehicles.
Excise Gujranwala region also collected Rs 3.13 million under the head of entertainment tax, Rs 37 million under the head of professional tax and Rs 7.5 million under the head of excise duty.

Excise and Taxation Secretary Ali Tahir is monitoring the process of tax collection on a weekly basis.
