Customs Intelligence decides to take up disciplinary cases against officials

KARACHI: The authorities concerned of the Directorate General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Karachi have decided to take up disciplinary cases established against the officials of the directorate.
Sources informed to Customs Today that the Customs Intelligence director has asked the authorities concerned to take up disciplinary cases against the Pakistan Customs officials and send a report within a week.
The sources further said that FBR authorities concerned have conveyed special directives to the competent authorities of the FBR’s different wings to send complete report in connection with disciplinary cases filed against customs’ officials for further action.
They said that the authorities concerned of the Directorate of Customs Intelligence have moved some disciplinary cases to the Customs Intelligence director.
It is pertinent to mention here that the said exercise got momentum after the visit of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Director General (DG) Luftullah Virk, as during his visit he asked the authorities concerned to eliminate malpractices from the department.
It may also be mentioned here that the authorities concerned of Appraisement-West have already taken departmental action against those customs officials to whom disciplinary cases were made.
