LAHORE: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) could not bring famous and costly restaurants into the tax net even after six months of the launch of this project.

A project was launched last year to bring into the tax net all restaurants located in posh areas of Lahore and other big cities of Punjab, but no work was done in this regard.

The Punjab Revenue Authority moved a summery to get funds for networking of the system and to make all record online in December 2014, but the authority is still waiting for a response from the authorities concerned. The PRA is going to computerise its system.

It launched a project to install special software at famous restaurants of posh areas in big cities of Punjab. The department argued in the summary that the PRA needed an automation system. A good number of people would be brought into the tax net after completion of this project.
