Multan Customs seizes Rs335m smuggled goods in 8 months of FY2014-15

MULTAN: Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) Multan seized about Rs335 million worth smuggled goods in the first eight months of the current fiscal year (2014-15).

Customs I&I Additional Director Nisar Ahmad, while talking to Customs Today, said that the department has maintained a unique multi-dimensional seizure profile by seizing all sort of vehicles and other goods.

“The department can further increase surveillance of suspected smuggling routes by establishing more check posts at some strategic points to curtail the illicit traders and smugglers in the region, but there is shortage of staff to do so,” he added.
