Examination work at KICT continues as usual despite odd weather

KARACHI: The examination work at the Karachi International Containers Terminal (KICT) continues as usual despite the unusual and unpredicted weather.

This was confirmed by Appraisement-West Assistant Collector Usman Tariq while talking to Customs Today over the phone.

Assistant Collector Usman Tariq further said that the examination staff members – due to unpredicted weather – avoid examining the containers having multiple miscellaneous items, while examination of other containers is being carried out as per routine.

It is pertinent to mention here that the authorities concerned of Appraisement-West has cancelled the weekly off days of the examining officials due to ensuring zero pendency at the advent of the next week.

On the other hand, sources claimed that the examination process is being affected to some extent due to unpredicted weather in Karachi, as a few containers were being examined as compare to the routine examination at the KICT.
