TAIPEI: The new HTC One M9 smartphone is about to launch shortly and now some details have been revealed about what HTC will be announcing at their press event tomorrow.

HTC will apparently be making changes to its HTC Advantage and offering a new ‘Uh-oh’ service that will give you one years protection on your new HTC One M9 smartphone and other devices.

A source familiar with HTC’s plans revealed that the big announcement will be a supercharged version of the current “HTC Advantage” plan for replacing broken HTC devices, according to a report by tech news site Android Central on Tuesday.

The new “Uh-oh” service will provide a full-year of protection compared with the six months offered by the Advantage, covering replacements from broken screens to water damage and support switching carriers within the first year, the report said.

HTC told CNA on Wednesday morning that its policy was not to comment on rumors or speculation.

The One M9 is the latest iteration of HTC’s flagship handset, which features a dual-tone unibody metal design, a 5-inch full-HD 1080p display, BoomSound dual-front speakers with Dolby 5.1 surround sound and an HTC Sense 7 software upgrade that offers a more personalized experience.

The global roll out of One M9 is expected to start in Taiwan later this month and hit U.S. stores soon after.
