The new release, revealed at the CeBIT 2015 event, is based on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 and marks BlackBerry’s second foray into the tablet market.

Created by BlackBerry subsidiary Secusmart, and incorporating IBM secure app wrapping technology, the SecuTABLET is primarily targeted at national and international public sector markets and enterprises and will enable data that is subject to special security requirements to be used on the move.

The company said the solution is currently undergoing certification at the German Federal Office for Information Security for the German VS-NfD (classified – for official use only) security rating.

Commenting on the release, Secusmart GmbH CEO Dr. Hans-Christoph Quelle said the SecuTABLET “closes a supply gap.”
