Silakot Customs assures exporters of solving their issues on priority basis

SIALKOT: Model Customs Collectorate Sialkot Zulfiqar Ali Chaudhary has assured the Sialkot exporters to resolve their Customs related issues on priority. He added that Model Customs Collectorate Sialkot (MCCS) was striving to ensure the early clearance of all the pending rebate and refund claims of Sialkot exporters, saying that MCCS was leaving no stone unturned to pay the dues of the rebate and refund claims.

He stated this while addressing a meeting of the Sialkot exporters held at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) here on Wednesday. SCCI President Fazal Jillani, SVP Mir Alamgir Meyer and VP Malik Naseer Akhtar were also present on the occasion.

Collector added that MCCS is providing advanced export-related facilities to Sialkot exporters and importers besides ensuring rapid clearance of the export consignments at Sialkot Dry Port Trust (SDPT) and Sialkot International Airport.

He revealed that the MCC Sialkot was earning the great confidence in the Sialkot exporters, as they have been expressing their complete satisfaction and confidence over these great facilities provided by the MCC Sialkot.

He said that the Sialkot exporters have been injecting the fresh blood into the national economy by earning the precious foreign exchange, playing their pivotal role in strengthening the national economy and boosting the national exports.

Collector Zulfiqar Ali Chaudhary also disclosed that the MCC Sialkot has started the process of paying a large number of the prolonged pending rebate claims to the Sialkot exporters on priority, enabling them to jazz up their business activities, saying that MCC Sialkot was honouring its all the commitments, besides, winning the hearts of Sialkot exporters, in this regard.

He said that MCC Sialkot is rapidly becoming a Center of Excellence with the active cooperation of the Sialkot based industrialists, exporters and importers, as the MCC Sialkot was successfully motivating them to do their business through Sialkot Dry Port Trust (SDPT) and Sialkot International Airport.

He pledged to leave no stone unturned for promoting the exports from Sialkot. He said that there was a huge potential of exports from export-oriented Sialkot city through the Sialkot Dry Port and even the Sialkot International Airport here.

On this occasion, SCCI President Fazal Jillani said that the exporters of Sialkot are the “Roaming Ambassadors of Pakistan”, who travel all around the world to fetch business and with their personal efforts, the export earnings of Sialkot stand at $1.8 billion annually, which is 6 percent of the total exports of Pakistan.
