Over 30yr experience: Bokhari new Managing Director, CEO of PPL

KARACHI: Syed Wamiq Bokhari has been appointed as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Pakistan Petroleum Limited, replacing Secretary Petroleum Arshad Mirza, who took additional charge of the post on July 8, 2014.

Renowned professional of oil and gas, Syed Wamiq Bokhari has over 30 years of management experience. He has worked with three international majors: Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company (KUFPEC), a subsidiary of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, EnniS.P.A. and Atlantic Richfield Company, USA.

Bokhari’s professional engagements have entailed assignments in several countries spanning five continents, the last as KUFPEC’s Regional Manager overseeing the Canada and South East Asia region. He has a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Petroleum Engineering from University of Texas, USA and has attended numerous executive management programmes at prestigious institutes.

Bokhari has served as chairman of Pakistan Association of Petroleum Geoscientists and been a member of Society of Petroleum Engineers and Pakistan Petroleum Exploration and Production Companies Association in addition to being on the advisory board of the Petroleum Engineering Department at NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi.
