KARACHI: Remittances have been increasing with an average of over 14 percent in the current fiscal bringing a total $11.75bn home in July-February eight-month period of 2014-15.
However, the remittances failed to bring the current account into surplus. Analysts believe that February could be a turning point for the current account deficit. This was also a point of concern for the government that despite very high inflows of remittances the current account remained there with negative figures.
