Shipping activity at Port Qasim: Five ships berthed carrying steel, chemical oil

KARACHI: Five ships carrying Containers, Steel Coil, Chemical, Furnace Oil and Edible Oil berthed at Qasim International Containers Terminal (QICT), Multi Purpose Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal, FOTCO Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively.

Meanwhile, three more ships carrying Containers and Canola Seed also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was 75 percent at the port on Wednesday where ships namely RDO Concord, Emerald Coral, Ikan Siakap, Super Star, Norgas Conception, Ex Quisite, Vermillion Energy and MTM Antwerp are currently occupying berths to load/offload Containers, Steel Coil, Pet Cock, Soya Been, Chemical, LNG, Furnace Oil and Edible Oil respectively during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume of 114175 tonnes comprising 93742 tonnes imports and 20433 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1961 containers (TEUs) were handled at the Port during last 24 hours.
