ANF recovers 55 kg drugs, arrests five drug traffickers

ISLAMABAD: Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) has recovered 55 kg charas and heroin-filled capsules, by arresting five drug traffickers including two Nigerian nationals.

ANF conducted operations in various cities including Islamabad, Mianwali and Quetta. The value of recovered drugs approximately amounts to Rs. 135.3 million in international market, said a press release.

According to details, ANF Rawalpindi Airport team during routine profiling at Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad, detained a Nigerian lady namely Justina Nkem Odozi on suspicion of having gulped heroin filled capsules. During initial interrogation, she confessed of having ingested heroin filled capsules.

Later on, she was shifted to Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Hospital, Rawalpindi for recovery of heroin capsules. She intended to board for Ivory Coast by Oman Airlines Flight No.WY-346.

ANF Rawalpindi Airport team in an operation conducted at Benazir Bhutto International Airport Islamabad apprehended two passengers namely Wahid Gul and Khan Baz, both residents of Hangu, who confessed of having Heroin filled-capsules in their stomach.

They intended to take off for Ras al-Khaimah by Air Arabia Airline Flight No.G9-829. ANF Rawalpindi Airport team during routine checking at Benazir Bhutto International Airport detained a Nigerian national namely Ezenwa John, who confessed of having gulped Heroin-filled capsules. The accused was proceeding for Doha by Qatar Airline Flight No.QR-615.

ANF Lahore Road Check team intercepted a Motor Cycle near Shahbaz Khel Morr, Kala Bagh Road, Mianwali and arrested a local drug supplier namely Ali Asghar, resident of Mianwali along with recovery of 3 kg charas from the personal possession. As per initial reports, accused is involved in supply of drugs to local drug peddlers.

ANF Quetta in an intelligence led operation, seized 52 kg charas from general area of Pishunkan, Tehsil and District Gawadar.

According to details, Charas was concealed at an uninhabited site, far away from the populated area.

It was stuffed in 26 plastic packets, each weighing 2 kg. As per preliminary reports, the drug was intended to be handed over to some other narcotics gang.

Cases have been registered against all detainees at respective ANF Police Stations and further investigations are under process.
