MULTAN: Model Customs Collectorate Multan Collector Sarfraz Ahmad Waraich said on Thursday that Customs Multan has seized non-custom-paid goods worth Rs 15 billion during its anti-smuggling operations in the first eight months of the current fiscal year 2014-15.
The seized goods included 65 luxury vehicles of famous brands including BMW, Honda and Toyota valuing around Rs 60 million.
Other goods seized included silk, different kinds of fabric, ceramic tiles, cigarettes, cosmetics, compressors, iron rods, engine oil and shampoo worth over Rs 14 billion.
Waraich said that permanent staff has been deputed at a checkpoint near Taunsa that has reduced smuggling from DI Khan and Suleman Mountain Range to a great extent.
