Saudis express desire to enhance commerce with Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Saudi Minister for Commerce and Industry Tawfiq Bin Fawzan Al Rabih while talking to the Federal Minister for Commerce Khurram Dastgir has expressed his desire to further strengthen the trade relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

He assured his full cooperation in providing market access to Pakistani products in the Saudi market and proposed to hold a single country exhibition of Pakistani products in Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi Commerce Minister emphasized the need for early holding of Joint Ministerial Commission meeting wherein all the trade and investment issues could be discussed and future road map of trade relations may be chalked out.

Dastgir warmly reciprocated the sentiments of Saudi side and emphasized on boosting the existing trade ties which are not commensurate with the excellent bilateral brotherly relations. The minister welcomed the suggestion of holding single country exhibition in Saudi Arabia and directed the authority concerned to organize the said fair at the earliest.

He agreed to hold Joint Ministerial Commission meeting in Riyadh in the first half of April, 2014. It was further decided that a strong business contingent would be part of Pakistani official delegation for the Joint Ministerial Commission meeting.
