Appraisement-East registers FIR against M/s Biz Care for forging GD documents

Company allegedly tampered with registration certificates of goods declarations, violating Sections 16, 32, 32A of Customs Act, 1969

KARACHI: Model Customs Collectorate Appraisement-East has registered a first information report (FIR) against the owner, director and partner of M/s Biz Care International for tampering with the registration certificates of goods declarations.

The company, bearing NTN 4203220-2 and registered with the address 352-A, Shah Rukn-e-Alam Colony, Multan City, had allegedly tampered with the registration certificates of the following GDs:

KAPE-HC-87518 dated 22-01-2015, KAPE-HC-75464 dated 30-12-2014, KAPE-HC-67079 dated 28-08-2014, KAPE-HC-10367 dated 28-07-2014, KAPE-HC-7623 dated 21-07-2014, KAPE-HC-6252 dated 11-12-2014 and KAPE-HC-34798 dated 26-09-2014, Book No.85, Serial No. 8441, Registration Number 3736 and Date 24-01-2013. The company tampered with importer and manufacturer name as M/s Biz Care International, M/s Lianyungang Jindun Agro Chemical Co Ltd, whereas the actual name of the importer and manufacturer was M/s PFC International and M/s Agro Star (Nantong) Bio-Chemical Co Ltd.

The complainant of this case was Jabbar Muhammad, Examining Officer, PICT, Model Customs Collectorate Appraisement-East, Customs House, Karachi.

The FIR was lodged for violating Sections 16, 32, 32A & 79 of the Customs Act, 1969 and Section 3(1) of the Imports and Exports (Control) Act, 1950, punishable under Clauses 9, 14, 14A & 46 of Section 156 (1) of the Customs Act, 1969 and allied laws.

However, role of the clearing agent namely M/s Al Rehmat Trading (CHAL 2419) is to be investigated to determine his involvement in submission of forged/tampered documents in connivance of the above importer.

It may be mentioned here that since the Manzoor Memon has taken the charge as Appraisement-East collector, the working conditions of MCC-Appraisement-East has started improving with fast speed while the recovery targets are also being achieved.
