LAHORE: Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol visited the Saggian Industrial Area and met with industrialists to discuss industrial issues and hurdles affecting business activities.

During the meeting, industrialists particularly thanked the LCCI President for his effective and continuous efforts which led to reopening of a factory sealed under the Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA).

President Saggian Industries Muhammad Amin, Ali Shiraz, Maqsood, Manzoor, Islam, Atif, Nasir and Amir, along with other industrialists, LCCI Executive Committee Member Rana Shoban Akhtar, Rameez Diwan and other LCCI office-bearers and members also attended the meeting.

The industrialists said that the sealing of the factory had not only affected industrial activities but also created serious concerns about business and employment of people associated with the unit. They said that in these circumstances, LCCI President Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol took immediate notice of the issue and effectively raised the industrialists’ concerns with the relevant authorities.

They said that the LCCI President established effective communication with the concerned departments for the reopening of the factory sealed under RUDA and strongly represented the industrialists’ position. As a result of these efforts, the factory was successfully reopened.

The industrialists termed the reopening an important relief for the business community, saying that it had not only restored industrial activity but also helped protect the jobs and livelihoods of people associated with the factory.

Speaking on the occasion, LCCI President Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol said that instead of unnecessarily closing or sealing industrial units, issues should be resolved through dialogue and mutual consultation. He said that the closure of an industrial unit does not affect only one business; it also impacts workers, employees, suppliers and other people associated with that business.

He said that the Lahore Chamber remains in continuous contact with the relevant institutions to resolve genuine issues faced by industrialists and that whenever unnecessary hurdles are created for business activities, the voice of the business community will be raised effectively.

He emphasized that facilitating industries and creating a business-friendly environment are essential for economic growth, employment generation and investment in the country.

Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol said that the Lahore Chamber’s objective is not merely to highlight the problems faced by industrialists but also to take effective steps for their practical resolution. He said that the Chamber would also approach the relevant authorities to address the issues faced by the business community in the Sagian Industrial Area and other industrial areas of Lahore.

The industrialists appreciated the efforts of LCCI President Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol for the de-sealing and reopening of the factory and said that the initiative had strengthened their confidence that the Lahore Chamber stands with the industrial community during difficult times.

They expressed hope that the Lahore Chamber would continue to play its role in resolving issues faced by industrial units in the same effective manner.

The industrialists further appreciated Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol’s efforts, saying that the reopening of the factory was a clear example of the Lahore Chamber’s commitment to effectively taking up the problems of the business community with relevant institutions and securing practical relief for them.
