Customs Adjudication orders to impound smuggled Hino Truck worth Rs 1.5m

MULTAN:  Customs Adjudication issued orders to confiscate the smuggled Hino Truck worth Rs 1.5 million.

Anti-smuggling Organization has seized the smuggled Hino Truck during anti-smuggling operation at Chowk Karim Daad Qureshiwala. Kashif Ahmad owner of seized truck is the resident of Sargodha. The registration number of seized truck was TKA-246/sibi. The model of the Hino truck was 1996.

The owner of Smuggled truck did not appear in proceeding of case and a representative Manzoor Ahmad on behalf of owner Kashif attended the hearings of seized vehicle case during the Adjudication process. The value  of the truck was Rs 1.5 million and the Customs duty on truck was Rs 1.8 million.

During the proceedings of the Adjudication the documents submitted by the owner for the verification of its seized vehicle to authorities found bogus and fake. It was also established during the proceeding of the case that owner has smuggled the vehicle through unauthorized way in the country without the payment of any taxes and Customs duty.

Meanwhile Additional Collector Customs Adjudication  has issued orders for the confiscation of vehicles out rightly with the Clause 89(i) of Section 156(i) of the Customs Act 1969 after comprehensive seizure case proceeding.
