LAHORE: Cooperation and coordination between the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) can ensure provision of quality skilled manpower to the industry.
These views were expressed by LCCI Vice-President Syed Mahmood Ghaznavi while talking to the Director R&D, TEVTA Dr Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah here on Friday.
Syed Mahmood Ghaznavi said that promotion of technical education is a must for much-needed GDP growth.
The LCCI Vice President said that collaboration between the two institutions ultimately bridge the Skill Gap which will lead to a quantum jump in the exports of the country, by value addition and responding to technological shift in the manufacturing & facing the challenges of Globalization.
He stressed the need for formulating policy for the promotion of demand driven technical education and vocational training in Punjab, under TEVTA.
They said that the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry will extend maximum cooperation to the officials of TEVTA in conducting Training Need Assessments etc.
Syed Mahmood Ghaznavi said that present setup of technical training is not addressing the requirements of modern industrialization taking place in the country.
Dr. Syed Iftikhar Hussain said that it is high time that the industrialists should avail the facilities being offered by TEVTA. He said that the partnership between the LCCI and TEVTA would further strengthen the relations between the two institutions.
