Ports and Shipping Secretary Habibullah Khan Khattak had earlier submitted a report in the ‘illegal appointments case’ in the Supreme Court, informing the apex court that he had issued show-cause notices to high officials.

The court had earlier directed the Chairman of Port Qasim Authority to serve these notices and bound them to appear before the secretary on April 20, 2014.

In that official reply, the secretary had informed the court that three Grade-20 officers including former acting chairman Brigadier (retired) Saeed Khan, Director General Administration Brigadier (retired) Furqan Shaikh and former Director Sports Nazeer Chakrani had already been terminated, following the orders of the Supreme Court.
