The governor expressed these views while chairing a meeting of the Board of Directors of Pesco at Governor’s House. The meeting was briefed by Hasan Fazil, the acting chief executive of Pesco, regarding functioning of electrical system in the province.

He said that power theft and line losses were two major issues but those people, who were paying their electricity bills regularly, should not punished with prolonged loadshedding for those reasons.

The administration of Pesco should improve its performance by becoming more transparent and fulfilling its responsibilities, consequently power theft and line losses would be controlled, Mr Khan said.

The governor directed the officials concerned to take strict action against black sheep and corrupt people in the department and ensure stable supply of electricity to the consumers.
