HANOI: Vietnam imported 362,861 mt of coal in April, up 89.9% from the same month last year but down 8% from March, according to the latest customs data.
Imports in April were worth $29.8 million, up 15% year on year but down 16.5% from March.
The main suppliers in the month were Indonesia with 211,425 mt, up 199% year-on-year, China (60,841 mt, up 44%) and Malaysia (27,346 mt, up 16%).
Over January-April, Vietnam imported 1.36 million mt of coal, rising 39% from the same period last year, with a value of $128 million, up 8.6%.
