Closing: KSE sheds 157pts, down 0.48% on institutional selling

KARACHI: The Karachi Stock Exchange benchmark 100-index lost 156.51 points or 0.48 percent to reach 32729.55 points and volume of 58,494,160 shares on Tuesday.

In midday trading,  stock exchange started gaining 154 points, but lost 41 points as KSE benchmark-100 index dropped to 32844.74 points level.

Total volume traded in the market was 136,282,440 shares with 320 total traded companies out of which 120 were up 181 were down and 19 were unchanged.

Automobile Assembler was the top traded sector with total traded volume of 21,345,400 shares. It was followed by Technology & Communication with a total traded volume of 20,492,000 shares.

The three top traded companies were Ghani Automobile with a volume of 16,587,500 and price per share of 7.48 (0.95), WorldCall Telecom with a volume 13,121,500 of price per share of 1.60 (0.24), Byco Petroleum with a volume 10,276,500 of price per share of 14.00 (0.11).

The top three advancers were Indus Dyeing with price per share 802.92 (34.71), Hinopak Motor with price per share of 1099.94 (28.25) and J.D.W.Sugar share of 301.72 (12.78).

The top three decliners were Service Ind. Ltd XD with price per share of 702.05 (-36.95), Nestle Pak XD with price per share of 9990.00 (-30.00) and Sapphire Fiber per share of 510.00 (-25.00).\

Economist said that volatile trading with KSE100 index likely hovering above 33000 in days ahead with hopes of a surprise in coming policy statement to revive interest with oil stocks expected to lead followed by yield plays.

High and Low were 33098.95 and 32843.66 respectively. Total volume traded in the market was 59,856,140 shares.
