Lahore Excise recovers huge quantity of narcotics, seven arrested

LAHORE: The Excise Anti-Narcotics Cell arrested seven people for their alleged involvement in the sale of drugs in different areas of Lahore and also recovered a huge quantity of heroin, charas and alcohol.

According to Excise and Taxation officer Lateef Anjum, the on special instructions of Director General Ahmad Aziz Tarar, Director Iqbal Nasir formed a special team under the supervision of ETO Lateef Anjum to take action against the drug mafia.

A team of excise under the supervision of Lateef Anjum and including Inspector Akhrat Sandhu, Waqas Aslam and Javed Aslam raided in Nawankot, Kot Lakhpat and South Cantt areas of the city. In different raids, the excise team recovered 2 kilogrammes of heroin from the possession of the accused. The team also recovered two kilogrammes of charas and dozens of bottles of moonshine.

The team arrested Muhammad Akmal, Umer, Suleman, Sufian Waris Ali, Mast and Faizan Masih and registered cases in the respective police stations against them.
