KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has started its operation against corrupt officials. According to well-informed sources of Regional Tax Office, the FBR nowadays is using all its resources to achieve revenue target and on the other hand the FBR is taking strict measures against corrupt officials.
According to these sources, the FBR recently took disciplinary action against 12 officials who were found absent from duty and were involved in other activities. This action included retrenchment and stoppage of performance allowance. Sources disclosed that one official was of Grade-16, while the remaining 11 were of Grade-6 to Grade-12.
It is important to mention here that last year disciplinary action was taken against 71 staff members. These staff members belonged to Grade-5 to Grade-20.
