RTO Faisalabad seems reluctant to arrest income tax defaulters

FAISALABAD:  Officers of the Federal Board of Revenue Regional Tax Office seem to be reluctant to take action against income tax defaulters.

According to details, Assistant Commissioner Inland, Investigation Officer I &P Wing  Unit 1 Zone 1 were directed by Deputy Commissioner Inland Revenue Nasir Khan to collect Rs 8.4 million income tax from defaulters. These directions were passed one and a half month ago.

They were also directed that if the tax defaulters deny to pay income tax then they must be arrested in the best interest of the county. But one and a half month have passed but no action has been taken so far. Talking to the Customs Today, Nasir Khan said that action would be taken against the staff which is showing reluctance or negligence in performing their official duties.

He warned the tax defaulters of stern action if they failed to pay income tax.
