Excise seals 316 properties in Gujranwala division on non-payment of taxes

SIALKOT: The Excise and Taxation department of Punjab has sealed as many as 316 residential and commercial properties owned by chronic tax defaulters in Gujranwala division.

Department sealed properties in all district including Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahaud Din, Hafizabad and Gujranwala during the ongoing recovery campaign against the tax defaulters there.

According to the excise officials, the above mentioned owners-turned-defaulters were the defaulter of Rs 2.6 million since long and were reluctant to clear the outstanding taxes, despite the issuance of the final recovery notices in this regard repeatedly.

They added that department has speed up the operation to recover the evaded tax from the defaulters.
