LAHORE: PML-N Lahore President Pervez Malik has said that economic health of the country is getting better with every passing day due to well-planned practical economic policies of the Nawaz Sharif government.
He was talking to a delegation of traders from various city markets. Pervez Malik said that the country’s economy was now on the right track after concrete steps taken by the government.
He said that international institutions like World Bank and IMF have declared that Pakistani economy has made a significant progress.
He said the international agency, Bloomberg, in its report had appreciated the achievements of the government despite the sit-ins and protest in the country. According to Bloomberg, he said, the government had managed to turn around the economy after political disturbance by some opposition parties in the middle of the last year.
While answering a question, Pervez Malik said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is the lifeline of the country and it would be completed at any cost. He said that CPEC would open new avenues of progress and prosperity. It would not only help Pakistani economy excel but would also create millions of new opportunities for the Pakistani workforce. He said that those who are chanting slogans against the economic corridor are not well-wishers of the country.
The PML-N leader said that markup is at the lowest ebb of the history and it is an ample proof of the Nawaz Sharif government’s business-friendly policies. He said that government would make this measure meaningful and result-oriented so that the business community could avail full advantage of the lowest markup. He said that apparent cut in markup would ensure availability of sufficient capital for the industrial sector and would also encourage foreign investor for investment in Pakistan.
He said that though energy crisis is inherited, the PML-N government had devoted all its resources for early solution of the issue. He said that all sectors of economy are being focused in a winsome manner and international agencies are admiring the efforts of the government’s efforts.
He said the new water projects would also help produce cheap energy to meet future needs of the country. He said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had launched a number of programmes, which would generate thousands of jobs and strengthen the economy.
He said, “Those who are creating a scene by giving an impression of a big political alliance are living in a fool’s paradise. Rejected politicians cannot succeed.”
