KARACHI: Federal Board of Revenue through a letter C.No.2 (1) L&P/07 has issued directives that all Customs Houses and other subordinate offices of Model Customs Collectorates shall remain open on Saturday June 28 and Sunday June 29 till 8:00 pm and will remain open on Monday June 30 till 12:00 midnight.
The letter further elaborated that the State Bank of Pakistan will remain open till 10:00 pm on June, 30 and National Bank of Pakistan shall remain open till 8:00 pm on June 28 and June 29 and will remain open till 12:00 midnight on June 30. The letter further stated that all commercial banks shall remain open until 10:00 pm till on June 30.
NIFT will remain available to collect and sort the clearing instruments deposited on June 28, 29 from NBP. Two special clearings on June, 30 at 3:00 pm and 10:00 pm respectively have also been arranged besides normal clearings, it stated.
It is further informed that all Model Customs Collectorates will remain open on June 28 and 29, 2014 till 8:00 pm and on June, 30 until 12:00 midnight. Chief Collectors are directed to establish liaison with State Bank of Pakistan and authorized branches of National Bank of Pakistan to ensure duties/taxes collection by these branches before or on the same date to account for this collection for the month of June, 2014.
The letter further stated that all Chief Collectors should personally ensure that all transactions relating to June, 30 and before are settled before the close of current financial year. Any lapse on this account will be viewed seriously.
