BEIJING: The General Administration of Customs said it has confiscated frozen meat with an estimated value of more than 3 billion yuan (US$490 million) in a nationwide anti-smuggling campaign.

The campaign, which focused on frozen meat products, was launched earlier this month in 14 provinces and municipalities across the country, including Beijing and Guangdong. A total of 21 gangs were busted, it said. The cases involved frozen chicken wings and beef, and a total of 130 suspects had been arrested, it said.
