NEW DELHI: Yes, it is true that most of the children in the world do not know the history of telephone. However, they have new ideas for the future communication system.
Reports suggest that the BT poll of 1,000, 7 to 11-year-old children found that one in every three children had “no idea” what a 19th-century telephone was and surprisingly, 16 percent of them think that the internet and mobiles were invented before the toilet.
Most shocking fact, the study states that 40 percent of them had never heard the fact that Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone in 1876. Meanwhile, 44% didn’t know what a telegram was.
However, the positive aspect of the study was that the kids believe that the smart devices would be able to “send and receive smells” as the next step in technology and a total of 20% thought that laptops would disappear within 10 years.Sandeep Raithatha, head of Innovation Central at BT, said that the children have some amazing ideas for the next generation of communications technology and if their predictions are correct they could see a huge change in the way they live and interact within the next few decades.
