SHC allows release of seized equipment imported by Telenor as interim relief

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) vide its order on May 13, 2015 in a Constitutional Petition No. D-2353/2015 filed by M/s Telenor Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd., Islamabad, has allowed the release of seized consignments of 8X40’ containers bearing Nos. CAIU-9153569, COLU-8407263, TCLU-5658184,TCNU-6455867, TEMU-6975982,OOLU-9618532, TCNU-5395552 and OOLu-8489003 containing outdoor battery cabinets with 48V DC air conditioner imported by Telenor Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd., vide GD No. KAPW-Hc-149204 dated 27-3-2015.

The interim relief given to Telenor after the submission of bank guarantee covering the differential amount of taxes to the Customs Collectorate pending adjudication of the case till decision up to level of Customs Appellate Tribunal.
