Lahore Excise impounds 98 vehicles during crackdown

LAHORE: The Lahore Excise and Taxation Department has impounded 98 vehicles during an operation launched against tax defaulters and unregistered vehicles in the city.

Most of the impounded vehicles’ owners are found vehicle tax defaulters while others did not have proper registration documents.

The Excise Department has also sealed a number of buildings of property tax defaulters in various areas of Lahore. This operation took place in all regions of Lahore including region B.

The special operation was launched on the directives of the Punjab Excise and Taxation Secretary and the Excise and Taxation Directors of all regions of Lahore.
According to an Excise and Taxation official, a number of teams were constituted in this regard while the Excise and Taxation Officer (ETO) is supervising the operation. Senior inspectors along with inspectors and other officials conducted crackdown against the defaulters in different areas, including Liberty roundabout, Gulberg, Ghazi Road, Bhatta Chowk, Faisal Town and Thokar Niaz Baig.

Hundreds of vehicles were checked during the operation. The vehicles running on the city roads with cancelled registration numbers are also being impounded.
