KARACHI: Four officials of APL Shipping Company booked in their alleged involvement in torturing a customer during office hours, it is learnt here.
According to the details, First Information Report (FIR) against the four officials namely Nadeem Shaikh (Manager), Asim Raza, Aziz Bin Tuha and Muhammad Shahzad of APL Shipping Company have been booked in Docks Police Station in pretext of their alleged involvement in torching a customer during office hours.
The company sources informed Customs Today that Asad Owais, a customer was severely tortured by the APL office staff when he demanded Delivery Order (DO) for releasing his consignments.
Asad Owais while talking to Customs Today shared his views that he was standing in a queue at 9.30am for getting Delivery Order at APL Head Office located at KPT Gate No.18 and when his turn came at around 12.30pm, the man namely Muhammad Shahzad on counter announced that the counter was closed for Zohar prayer.
“When I asked him that the timing of Zohar Namaz is around 1.30pm, he shouted and come out from the counter and bashed his head on my nose”, he added.
“My nose started bleeding and I fell unconsciousness due to fasting”, he further added.
He further informed this scribe that two to three officials came out and beat him.
“I have registered an FIR against all of them and the police are going to investigate the matter”, he added.
