Faisalabad ASO seizes 638 illegally imported LCDs worth Rs3.18 million

FAISALABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) has seized foreign origin used LCDs and a mini-truck.

According to details, Faisalabad Collector Tauseef Ahmed Qureshi received credible information regarding smuggling of the above-said items. After receiving the tip, the collector constituted a raiding party comprising Zahid Bukhari (superintendent), Safdar Ali, Mehmood Ahmad Doger (inspector), Muhammad Naeem, Muhammad Salam, Atta Muhammad, Hafiz Naseer and Liaquat Ali (sepoys).

The team conducted a successful raid near Main Gate Road, Satiana Road, Faisalabad, as they intercepted a mini-truck bearing registration number EA-3501 Peshawar, and found 636 foreign origin used LCDs and other electronic appliances having market value of Rs 3.18 million.

When the raiding party asked the accused to provide legal documents regarding import of the above-said items, he failed to do so. On this, the ASO staff seized the items while further investigation is underway.
