Bank Al Habib, Faysal Bank, Bolan Bank defaulters of Rs 437,149 property tax‏

KARACHI: The Bank Al Habib Limited, Faysal Bank Limited and Bolan Bank Limited are the defaulters of at least Rs 437,149 property tax since last many years, it is learnt.

It is mentioned here that the property tax is levied and collected under the Sindh Urban Immovable Property Tax Act, 1958. And a uniform rate of tax is levied on all categories of properties at 25 percent of annual rental value.

While talking to Customs Today, Director Excise and Taxation Sindh Shabir Shaikh said Faysal Bank Limited located at B-35 Block 13-A had to pay off Rs 320,250; Bank Al Habib Limited situated at B-39 Block-13A, ground floor Rs 70,200 and Bolan Bank Limited housed at B-44, Block-13-A, ground floor Rs 46,699.

“The dues have been accumulated as the private organizations show reluctance to pay the taxes, however now the excise and taxation officials will collect the taxes by hook or by crook”, the director added.
