“The property tax is levied and collected under the Sindh Urban Immovable Property Tax Act, 1958. And a uniform rate of tax is levied on all categories of properties at 25 percent of annual rental value”, sources elaborated.

Sources said that three committees had been formed comprising excise and taxation officers (ETOs) and assistant excise and taxation officers (AETOs) who would ensure recovery of the outstanding dues at  the earliest.

And, if the companies failed to give positive response, then the Sindh excise and taxation department would take stern action against them, they concluded.
