LAHORE: Punjab Industrial Estates Development & Management Company (PIEDMC) Chairman SM Tanveer has said that the development work has been started at the Quaid-e-Azam Apparel Park.
The PIEDMC chairman said this while visiting the construction site along with the company’s top management. Speaking on the occasion, Tanveer said that 13-kilometre boundary wall being constructed around the Apparel Park.
Tanveer said that setting up of the apparel park over an area of 1,562 acres of land was in line with the guidelines of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. “The park will generate 250,000 jobs after becoming fully operational and will have about 600 industrial plots from half acre to 25 acres for an industrial unit. A 100MW power plant project will also be developed,” he added. He said the NESPAK has completed master plan and infrastructure designing of the Quaid-e-Azam Apparel Park.
Tanveer expressed the hope that the timely completion of the project would also pave the way for the vision of the chief minister for ensuring maximum benefits of the GSP Plus facility from the EU to boost the country’s economic growth and ultimately alleviate poverty and terrorism from the region. He said the chief minister would preside over the groundbreaking ceremony of the apparel park soon.
