Shahbaz urged to increase number of metro buses

RAWALPINDI: After the increasing number of commuters, the metro service in twin cities needs more busses.

The residents of Islamabad and Rawalpindi have urged Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to provide more buses as the people have to wait in long queues to board a bus.

With the beginning of Ramazan, huge crowds were witnessed at all the metro bus stations of Rawalpindi and Islamabad as all the metro buses were fully packed of passengers.

People saving themselves from scorching heat are giving preference to reach their offices and work places in time by travelling on luxury metro buses while all others busy roads of twin cities were giving deserted look.

The passengers have complained that at times they were stopped from even drinking water on the stations as the staff claimed that it is not allowed. The service started with 68 busses on 23-kilometer long track from the Saddar to the Secretariat, including 24 stations.
