Excise seals 300 properties due to tax evasion in crackdown

SIALKOT: The Excise and Taxation Department has sealed as many as 300 properties for non-payment of property tax, besides, impounding 211 different vehicles for not paying their token taxes, during a crackdown launched in Gujranwala city’s posh localities, People’s Colony, Model Town, Satellite Town and Wapda Town. The Excise and Taxation teams also displayed the defaulter notices on all the sealed 300 properties, besides seizing the registration documents of as many as 147 different vehicles as well.

The Excise teams also sealed as many as 24 small houses of 3.5 marlas each in Y Block of People’s Colony Gujranwala, whereas the houses up to 5 marlas are exempted from the payment of the property tax by the Punjab government.
